India represent a great market opportunity for companies with technologies in the maritime and naval markets, however a different approach is required to supplying solutions into the Indian market. Like many countries, India is looking for local content and ‘indigenisation’ of the systems they are procuring from foreign suppliers. Nick has worked on several Indian projects that involved some level of transfer of technology and has developed an understanding of the requirements for Indigenisation and how this can be adopted by UK companies to develop profitable business in India. Forum Technologies is currently working with a UK client to develop business with a major Indian prime contractor that involves a partnership approach and joint systems development
